Got my android !!

Woooooo-Hoooooo !!!!!!!!!! \\m// Got my android..... :) I wanted it very badly.. Have bought LG optimus Net P690.
800 mHz processor ,
512 MB RAM,
3MP camera,
150 MB internal memory and
32 GB external with
Wi-Fi,
3G and
ofcourse Android OS -version 2.3.4 gingerbread.
And as a first android user I am very happy with my phone.. Actually it is healing my pain of staying in chennai.(As I got transferred from kolkata to chennai after 1 month training) :)
As days are passing by, staying in chennai is becoming easy. And about job,its alright.. ;) But, staying 2000 km away from home.................... :(

At last......I have joined Cognizant.

At last, I have joined Cognizant on 13th oct, 2011. And the weird thing is that I got the date intimation mail just before the day, on 12th oct. I was totally unprepared, documents were not ready..Got that mail at 3.30pm approx.
After preparing all documents I came to kolkata after a whole night bus journey, and at 8 am reported at bantala campus..The first day was not good for me at all. I was exhausted very much..
The two day induction period is over now. Our training session will start from tomorrow at rajarhat unitech building.

I couldnt enjoy the feeling of getting joining after a long waiting and I am not in the waiting queue anymore because I had not time for this..

And I have another objection too, Why Cognizant have not given joining to any of my mates with me.. Hope you guys will get it very soon, I miss you very much friends..

My second attempt in animation.

This is My second attempt in animation..I want to create a storyline but, it will be tough enough and also time consuming.. I have not so much patience. :D

My first try in Animation.. :D

Since past few days, I was trying to make an animation video..But, I have not any proper training.. And didn't know how to start, which s/w to use.. And then I have followed the traditional animation procedure using MS-Powerpoint.. And as a first attempt I have created a scene of a busy road.. A bus, an ambassador and a bike is passing by.. :D :D

This is another product of my boredom.

Westbengal ----------------> Pashchimbanga

From today 19th august 2011, our state will be known as Paschimbanga in english also [previously known as West-Bengal in english and Paschimbanga in Bengali]. My question is, the name change was necessary actually ??
They have shown following reasons behind the name-change.

• West Bengal comes at the end in alphabetical order in the all states meet where issues are addressed. But by the time we get turn most of the people feel sleepy. This was a problem as most of the people used to loose attention at the end.
• Presently there is no existence of East Bengal so the word ‘West’ before Bengal is meaningless.
• It is weird for a state to have different names in different languages. [ As it was West Bengal in English and Paschimbanga in bengali ] ..

Now, my points are.....

• One state will come at the end in alphabetical order, this is for sure.. Changing name is not a solution. After changing the name, there are some states after paschimbanga -- Rajasthan, Tripura, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim etc. If these states change their names for the same reason and come before paschimbanga then will we change our name again ?

• Bengal was partitioned into two provinces, West Bengal and East Bengal before independence. In 1947, East Bengal became East Pakistan and in 1971 it became a separate country named 'Bangladesh' after the war of independence with West Pakistan. So the name 'West Bengal' has a big historic significance. We shouldn't forget that. But, alas......

• Our country has two different name is two different languages. 'Bharat' in bengali or Hindi and 'India' in english. Should we change the name of our country also ??

• My last point is 'Current Financial Condition of our state'. After becoming CM, Mamata Banerjee has told more than 1000 times about the poor financial condition she have got from previous state-govt. The whole name-change process is very very expensive. In this situation, was it necessary ??
  

In the end, I can only say, I am just nobody. Where, Ministers, MLAs, So-called Intellectuals have taken this decision, maybe they must have thought properly. Lets hope that with the new name, the state will move ahead and would achieve success in all fields. Lets hope that Paschimbanga will be known as an ideal state of India where there would be no existence of corruption, violence, poverty and Industry and cultivation would flourish.

NOTE :
Previous name of few other states have been changed earlier. Previous name of the state Uttar Pradesh was United Provinces. In 1950 the name was changed from United Provinces to Uttar Pradesh.
Karnataka was known as State of Mysore before 1973. The name is changed in 1973.
In 1969, Madras was renamed as Tamil Nadu.
Orissa was renamed as Odisha on 9 November 2010.
On 19 August, the decision to change the name of West Bengal has been taken. The new name will be Paschimbanga. The decision will be send to Central Government for approval.

Teaching in a School - A NEW EXPERIENCE

Its so boring to stay idle at home, doing just nothing... That's why I have started teaching Computer Application in a School and wanna continue until I get my Date of Joining from Cognizant(hope will start from august, lets see). My first class was on last friday.. The class was scheduled for 40 minutes, but, I have to take it for 1 hr to meet students wants.. I think they are very impressed with their new teacher. I was a little bit nervous first, as it was my first class( In which I am teacher) but it became completely perfect after sometime.. Next will be on Tuesday.

Dad is happy too. Because he always wanted to see me as a teacher.. But, unfortunately(For dad)/Fortunately(For me) I am an Engineer now :) :) :). And I am very proud for it... :) :) :) :)

Really going through a bad time - II

Taking rest at home now, being cured from fever. 104 degree. Lasted for one day, but that was really enough.
Have completed the 'element K E-Learning module sent by Cognizant' on 25th May'11 and dont know what to do now. Waiting for further instructions from HR team.

Friday 13th

Remember the horror movie 'Friday 13th'? :) Just saying. Yesterday was 13th Friday,2011. And the roads were almost empty...most of the Shops were closed.. He he he, it's not the effect of that movie. Because, the result West Bengal Assembly Election 2011 was scheduled to publish on that day. And we all knew the result. So, all were in fear of 'celebration of the winning party'. After publishing the result they were playing a song like that, "Amra Nuton, Amra Odvut"(We are new, we are strange)..... No doubt, you people are 'ODVUT'(strange).

Going through a bad time

Really going through a bad time now. Coming back from home after a long vacation in Kolkata, I have lost my wrist-watch gifted by my dad 9 years ago.
Relations are becoming complicated. Don't know whats going on around me. And, the job, don't know finally I will get it or not. Heard that, maximum colleges have received offer letters from Cognizant, but, till now HIT haven't.

Major Project has been submitted, We've Completed MCA.

Major Project has been submitted successfully. Our project was "Transport Information System". So, officially we have completed M.C.A. and waiting for result now. Don't know how three years have been passed away. Time has gone rapidly. As I hoped, my student life has finished now. I will miss these days obviously. Especially, the school life. College life(in HIT, and in PKC also) will be in memory also. Got a job, waiting for the offer letter eagerly.
Have started maintaining diary again. I started it when I was 12, and left it three years ago and started again to record the important changes in my life (My life is changing so fast, huh?) :) .

Yes, We got..We got the World Cup again!!

After 28 years, we have done it...We have done it again. We got a chance in 2003, when DADA(Sourav Ganguly) was the captain of team India..But, we failed.. Any way, we got it at last. Thank you MS Dhoni, Yuvi(Yuvraj Singh) and other team members, Coach and all supporting staffs of Team India for making us(all Indians) proud.
But, it would be better if we could do it in DADA's Jamana. :)

In a busy schedule........on the way to Cognizant

In a tight schedule now..Classes for my final year major project is going on rapidly..So fast, that sometimes I cant connect myself with it. However, joining formalities of Cognizant is on the way also..getting new mails from cognizant often.. Very exciting moment it is..:)
We have to complete a E-learning course module with minimum 75% marks to get the joining letter..We all are busy for that..semester exam is coming also.. Actually I like to stay busy always.. :):):)
Hope, we ll get joining on august'11. Lets see.

My CTS Interview Paper

I am posting my Cognizant interview paper in my blog. It will be my pleasure if this paper will help you people to crack the interview. Thanks.

Cognizant Technology Solutions arranged a campus recruitment program in our college (HIT, Haldia) on 27th Dec, 2010. Our reporting time was at 6.45 AM. Around 650 students appeared in that recruitment process.. But, only 316 students were able to qualify the first round i.e, Aptitude test ... The question pattern of Cognizant is totally different from other companies... So, you should be well prepared to qualify..And there is no negative marking, so, attempt all questions..

In the answer sheet, there are some questions like follows-

1. Your software exposure.
2. Your hobbies and interests.
3. What do u expect from Cognizant?
4. What is your long term and short term plan?
5. Which skills one should have to be successful in software industry?
6. Which skills among them do u have?

Answer these questions properly, because these answers are very important even than your CV. This answer sheet will be forwarded to the interviewer and they can discuss about these answers with you while PI or personal Interview.

At 2.30PM result of Apti. test published and thank god, my name was in the list... And the next round was PI (Technical+HR).. At 7.30 PM, I went to the interview room from a waiting room (In that room we waited for interview)..

Me : May I come in sir?
Sir : Oh, Mr. Kallol, can you give me 5 minutes more, please?
Me : Yes, of course.( I was very nervous )
[ Sir was giving marks to the previous candidate] After 5 minutes,
Sir : Ok, come in.
[ I came inside]
Sir : Mr. Kallol. Baithiye sir.[Sit down]
Me: Thank you, Sir.
[Now, he started reading my answer sheet in front of me and with a smiling face]
Sir : Why your score in graduation is so poor?
[ I scored 84% in Madhyamik, 74% in HS, 59% in B.Sc. and 8.02 in MCA]
I told the reason but, he was not satisfied.
Sir : So, you know Hypertext Preprocessor [PHP] ?
Me: Yes sir, actually i have done my minor project in PHP and MySQL.
[ I brought my Project report with me, because I was very much confident with my project and I wanted the interviewer to ask me from that project]
Sir : What are u doing in major project?
Me: I haven't decided till now.
Sir : And, what about minor project?
[I was waiting for this moment]
Me : I have built an "Internal mail Server" using PHP and MySQL.
Sir : Ok, Draw and discuss about your project. Why u have used PHP, which protocol u have used, which ports
you have used, etc.
[ He gave me a pen and paper ]
I discussed about every detail of the whole project. And after that I told that i have bought my project report. And he wanted to see it..And I had to explain again while showing the snapshots of my project. And we discussed about jsp and php. He asked some codes of PHP. some basic queries from SQL.
Sir : Have you remembered C [with a smiling face] ?
[ I surprised because of this question, How can a MCA student forget C ? ]
Me : How can I forget it sir? It is the first programming language I have learned.
Sir : So, You have learned C first? I have learned PASCAL, COBOL, FORTRAN first [ In a chatty mood ]. I have
done my MCA from NIT, Rourkela. My all india rank was 8.
Ok, Kallol say something about you, your family.
[ I told my name, address, father's name, occupation, my strength, weakness, why they should take me ]
Sir : Thank you, Mr. Kallol, you may go now. Thanks for giving your time. Wish you a happy new year.
[After hand-shake..]
Me : Sir, I have some questions, if you don't mind.
Sir : Ok, carry on.
Me : Sir, How was my interview?
Sir : Good, good...
Me : Which degree you prefer the most, B.Tech, MCA or M,Tech?
Sir : Quality matters, if we get a B.Sc student with that quality we will take him.
Me: What we have to do after being selected in cognizant? If we can of-course.
Sir : A continuous training will be provided to you, and after that an exam will be taken. If you can not qualify you will
be thrown out. Not only you, everyone have to qualify that test.
Me : Whats the current project going on in Kolkata?
Sir : [Smiling] At this moment 6000 project are going on... Which one among them, i will tell ?
Me : Sir, my last question, which technology is used the most in cognizant?
Sir : Almost everything. which will bring money, we will do that.
Me: Ok sir. Thank you.
[ After wishing happy new year and shaking hands again I came out]

My interview was going on for 1 hour. But, I was so much tensed that I thought, it was perhaps for 20-25 mins.
After 9 days, on 6th jan,2011 the final result published..209 students were selected..And My name was in the list again..And, believe me friends, getting a job in your dream company is an wonderful feeling...
So, don't be tensed, just go and crack the interview. And remember some points..

* Don't say CTS in the interview..Just say cognizant..
* Always keep a smile on your face..
* Always tell the truth..
* Be conscious about your spoken English..
* Don't try to be over-smart..

4th Day in Kolkata

Now we are in Kolkata.. Me and my friend Sunit have rented a house(With kitchen and attach bathroom) at Kestopur in kolkata..Today is our 4th day in Kolkata. We are doing our major project for the fulfillment of the degree MCA in Sun Microsoft, saltlake,sector III.

Chatting, movie and sleeping are our daily activities now.. And one more things we are doing that is to identify all kinds of short roots between rabindrapally and sector III, saltlake.

My Interview

Its a wonderful feeling- getting a job...

At last, at last got a job in CTS[Cognizant Technology solutions]. Its really an indescribable feeling ,getting a dream job. I can remember the time when I admitted for MCA...What a time was that.. IT sector was down..What will I say it? Luck? That, market is growing up so rapidly and at the time of my passing out..What is that if not luck?
I Am happy, my parents are happy, my relatives are happy....And what a relief friends..Ohhh....this is the end of all tensions, i think...But, teachers are saying something different..The more tension is waiting for us now... More pressure is waiting for me...
Let them say anything..But, I wanna enjoy the every moment of these days..... This is my dream job... I want to forget every tension, every pressure now, for at least 2 months... Let me do that. :)
